So many things have gone on that make it nearly impossible to keep up on a regular basis. However, for time sake I'll just break it down into the standard monthly updates and catch up as necessary.

Bailey - Is doing fantastic! She is walking like a champ, working on her words, learning shapes, coloring, and SO much more. The amount of sign language she knows is just incredible and it has been beyond helpful along the way.

Steven - He was put on furlough about 3 weeks ago now. Unlike what 'normal' companies do, he was not give an exact date or amount of time for his furlough. It could have been a few weeks or even as long as 6 months. However, the biggest thing about it was that while he was sitting at home he wouldn't be getting paid, wasn't eligible to collect unemployment, and if they didn't pull him back within 3 months we would lose our health insurance. So he asked for a lay off since at least then he would be eligible for unemployment. Thankfully we got lucky and he was able to get a management job at McDonalds. Nothing great but it's better than nothing.

Ashley - Has been staying at home with Bailey since the beginning of June/end of May. She has been working towards the completion of a book project that she began earlier this year, as well as working on some small freelance writing gigs. Sadly with Steven losing his job she has had to pursue work again and has been having a difficult time in the search. However, there is hope that an interview last week will nail a job that starts this week.

February Update

Well a lot has happened in the first month of the new year.

Steven has begun to study for his licensing exam. By threat of force, he sits down daily and plugs away. Well, he does study a lot with out threats too. He's counting down the days to graduation, and enjoying time with the guys.

Ashley is working hard, taking two classes: Humanities 15th to 20th Centuries, and Human Growth and Development. She had her first article published with The Campus Voice, FCCJ's school paper, and is currently working on a magazine article for Ice Magazine, as well as her first novel. She started Weight Watchers last month along with her mother and both are doing fantastic! She is also continuing to volunteer with the Guardian ad Litem Program.

Bailey has made a few accomplishments of her own. She talks up a storm all ready, much to the fear of her parents, those future phone bills will be a nightmare. She is also attempting to get walking down, and is very close to hitting the 8 month old mark. Yikes!

New Year, New Life

As 2009 begins and 2008 ends, it is hard to not look back at what has happend. Every second of 2008 and beyond has brought us to this exact moment, and is the reason for the outcomes of the rest of this (hopefully) glorious year. In 2009 we will be celebrating several milestones:

Ashley goes back to college as of January.

Steven graduates from his apprenticeship after 5 long years.

Ashley and Steven celebrate their 2nd wedding anniversary.

Bailey will celebrate her first birthday!

Among many other equally important milestones, not just within our immediate family, but extended family as well. (Congrats Judge Joe Grammer!)

Hopefully this page will help to keep everyone updated on the goals and accomplishments of our family, along the way.

Take care!

Ashley, Steven, and Bailey
